The scales in the fruit and vegetable department at the Albert Heijn Brugstraat Groningen are measuring a lower weight than the scales at the cash register.

The scales at the cash register determines the weight that must be paid for. So you always pay a little bit more than you think in advance. A little each time, millions per year for Ahold.
