The ‘Suikerunie’ sugar plant at the Hoendiep in Groningen was once the largest one in Europe. Due to problems with European grants the plant was not only required to close in 2008, it also had to be demolitioned before summer in 2010. Opening of the Academic Year in Groningen

Gregor Salto was the main act during the Opening of the Academic year in Groningen at Monday August 31. He was accompanied by DJ Jorn, Vice Verzen, Groove Department, Pushin Woord Soundsystem and the Jeroen Sweers Boogie Woogie Band to kick the new year off. Rector Frans Zwarts and Erik Verdonk openend the Academic Year
